01:18 am - Bateman! "American Psycho" aims for Broadway show
Controversial social satire "American Psycho" is headed for Broadway, eight years after the novel became a movie starring Christian Bale, the companies adapting the book to the stage said on Tuesday. The 1991 book from author Bret Easton Ellis centers on young Wall Street investment banker Patrick Bateman, an obsessively materialistic yuppie who by night commits murders while losing himself in drugs and prostitution. The Johnson-Roessler Company, The Collective and XYZ Films partnered to acquire, develop and produce the live stage version of the novel, the companies said. "American Psycho" has sold more than 1.6 million copies worldwide, but when it came out it shocked readers with graphic content that included Bateman's torturing a woman with a rat. The film received a great deal of attention in the media, but was released mostly in art house cinemas and earned only $15 million at U.S. and Canadian movie theaters. No date was given for when the stage show would open.

12:04 pm - Hate My Life This song isn't very good but the lyrics crack me up. The cd, however, is quite solid.
Theory of a Deadman - "Hate My Life"
So sick of the hobos Always beggin for change I don't like how I gotta work And they just sit around and get paid I hate all of the people Who can't drive their cars Bitch you better get out of the way Before I start falling apart
I hate how my wife Is always up my ass She always wants to buy brand new things But I don't have the cash (Oh please kill me now)
Oh I hate my job All of my rich friends I hate everyone to the bitter end Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight I hate my life
How come I never get laid Nice guys always lose How could she have another headache There's always some kind of excuse I still hate my job My boss is a dick I don't get paid nearly enough To put up with all of his shit (Get on your way)
I hate my job All my rich friends I hate everyone to the bitter end Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight I hate my life
I hate that I can't tell When a girl's underage You know I tell her she's a nice piece of ass Then her daddy punches me in the face
So if you're pissed like me Bitch this is what you gotta do Put you middle fingers up in the air Go on and say "Fuck You" (All together)
I hate my job All of my rich friends I hate everyone to the bitter end Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight I hate my life So much at stake Can't catch a break I hate my life No it's nothing new It sucks to be you I fucking hate my life Current Location: Caremark - Scottsdale Current Music: Theory of a Deadman - So Happy

12:07 pm - Restless I will be waiting right here only to roam When the bells chime like there is no tomorrow (and you're gonna take me home) I'm never gonna ever gonna belong to another, no Never gonna ever gonna belong to another, no
Leave me alone I am not an angel yet
My candle shines at nighttime through the dawn But my darling you have fallen and don't belong (and I can't carry on) My candle shines without a doubt But the wind in your wings blows it out And for my arms it is too late And your wings are gonna have to wait
Leave me alone I am not an angel yet
Leave me alone I am not an angel yet.

I got back last night from my first ever trip to Chicago and I loved every minute of it. Not only did I get to see one of my best friends but I met some great people and experienced life in a different part of the country. If I were to write everything in complete sentences, it would take up 400 pages. Instead I'm going to give you a brief rundown of each day in as few words as possible. You might even get some links. 01:34 pm - Wisdom and happiness
I’ve been chasin’ footsteps for years And runnin’ around in circles for years Chasin’ my tail Lookin’ for answers to questions I’ve never heard It’s a wide open world I’m tryin’ to find it It’s a wide open sky But it’s light and blindin’ And it’s raining down on me, slowin’ me down But I keep on goin’ I know I recognize this man walkin’ in front of me When he turned around, I locked eyes with me And it scared me to see myself in 20 years Lost, ashamed, locked up, loaded down, and sure to try I been knowin’ that I could change my ways And I took a different road No more runnin’ around in circles No more chasin’ my tail I’m just goin’ forward these days with my eyes closed I know I can make it Fuck it, I know I can make it if I try I must let love live inside me for awhile And maybe later on I’ll see you all after the show I heard this story down here about an hour ago I know I’m goin’, I am a different man Different than I was, I’m gonna find my way home Gonna find my way home.

10:08 am - Stolen!
IF YOUR LIFE WERE A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press shuffle again. 6. Don't lie.
Opening Theme Song: Mike Patton - Improvised Explosive Device 0300 Hrs (sweet!)
Waking Up: Elton John - Honky Cat
First Day of School: Eminem - Criminal
Falling in Love: Disturbed - Devour (this one really fits if you know the lyrics)
Fight Song: Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Breaking Up: The Used - Bulimic
Prom: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - I Tried
Life: Staind - Take It
Mental Breakdown: Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer (ooh that's a good one)
Driving Far Away: Jason Mraz - You and I Both
Flashback: Paul Wall - Break 'Em Off (hahahahahaha)
Wedding: Marilyn Manson - This Is the New Shit (how romantic!..."Are you motherfuckers ready for the new shit? Stand up and admit tomorrow's never coming")
Birth of Child: Stone Sour - Come What(Ever) May (this has nothing to do with children...oh well)
Final Battle: Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up (this would be more appropriate for either of the next two but I can't cheat)
Death Scene: Sevendust - Driven
Funeral Song: Tech N9ne - Suicide Letters (how depressing)
End Credits: Metallica - The Call of the Ktulu (those must be some long ass credits for a song that is almost 10 mins long!) Current Location: Caremark - Scottsdale Current Mood: annoyed Current Music: Fall Out Boy - Thnks Fr Th Mrms

12:06 pm - Today's D:ET Rant
So I wrote my Box Office Results article for D:ET and, as much as I tried to avoid it, I really ranted. I think it deserves its own LJ post.
Weekend Box Office Results for 02.02 - 02.04.07:
1. The Messengers $14.5M (Weekend), $14.5M (Gross) 2. Because I Said So $13M (Weekend), $13M (Gross) 3. Epic Movie $8.22M (Weekend), $29.4M (Gross) 4. Night at the Museum $6.75M (Weekend), $225M (Gross) 5. Smokin' Aces $6.32M (Weekend), $25M (Gross) 6. Stomp the Yard $4.2M (Weekend), $56M (Gross) 7. Dreamgirls $4.05M (Weekend), $92.8M (Gross) 8. Pan's Labyrinth $3.6M (Weekend), $21.7M (Gross) 9. The Pursuit of Happyness $3.1M (Weekend), $157M (Gross) 10. The Queen $2.71M (Weekend), $45.5M (Gross)
I really hope this doesn't turn into a rant but it very well might. The first thing that jumps out at me about the results is how well movies did despite it being Super Bowl weekend. Audiences must have really gone out to the theaters on Friday and Saturday for the numbers to end up that high.
It's no surprise that The Messengers took the top spot in its first week out. Despite being directed by the Pang brothers (most famous for The Eye and The Eye II), I don't trust horror films that appear to be watered down for American audiences. Hopefully, I will be proven wrong but the mediocre IMDB rating says otherwise. In second place was the chick flick Because I Said So starring Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore (yum). Worthless.
Coming in at third was Epic Movie which brings up a very good question: How are we as a nation supposed to overcome all of this world hatred that seems to be directed towards us when the general public makes a concerted effort to spend nearly $30 million dollars on crap like this? First, Hollywood spends insane amounts of money to make movies such as Superman Returns and Harry Potter, then they finance something that SPOOFS films like that and is completely bashed by all critics. They have been doing this for years with the shitty Scary Movie series and the embarrassing 2006 release Date Movie. Now don't go me wrong, I love this country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else; I'm just saying that if I was sitting in my sand cave somewhere and was told that millions of dollars were being pumped into producing this drivel, I might have to go jihad on someone.
Night at the Museum is in the top 5 for its 7th week in a row. I have no problems with that (*gasp*). I am very surprised, however, at the 5th place finish for Smokin' Aces. It dropped from number 1 to number 5 despite critical and audience success. Yet that fucking Epic Movie...*deep breath in, slow release* I'm going to take a walk.
